About
Kristen has been fitness training older adults (40+) since 2001 working with the whole range of the aging population. Her fitness specialty involves keeping the body responding to stimuli without inflicting injury or too much undue inflammation and pain. Older adults can suffer from muscle loss, and a decline in flexibility, and balance. The most important factor to fitness success is enjoyment and consistency and not too strenuous.
Gymnastics was Kristen's first passion in life where she competed for nearly 20 years. Later, owned and coached at a gymnastics training facility in her hometown, she gained many exercise skills that she uses today. Next came competitive beach volleyball (ranked AA), Competitive Powerlifting, and Track and Field where she became the USA National Indoor Master's Pentathlon Champion in 2004.
After spending the first half of her life in competitive sports or just training in general, she realized that the aging body needed more tender loving care instead of "punishment." The body needs a way to be stimulated to grow without promoting inflammation. Women in peri-menopause and menopause, in particular, can suffer from many symptoms associated with adrenal dysfunction causing pain and inflammation.
In 2003, Kristen received her certification of nutritional training at The National Institute of Endocrine Research and Sabre Sciences. This training has helped her to formulate the proper intensity of exercise for the aging population. Many of her clients utilize the custom testing available from Sabre Sciences, Inc.
The goal is to show love to your body so that it will be able to perform and function well into the later years.
